Newsweek Ranks Beacon Hill at Eastgate Among Nation’s Top Continuing Care Retirement Communities for Second Consecutive Year
For the second year in a row, Beacon Hill at Eastgate has been recognized as one of the best continuing care retirement communities in the country by Newsweek for its dedication to resident care.
The award was presented to Beacon Hill at Eastgate by Newsweek and Statista Inc. for providing a community that offers a continuum of care options, allowing residents to thrive and age with dignity and grace. Newsweek ranked its 2025 list of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities based on accommodations, overall care and safety measures, food and financial factors, as well as the quality of independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care and memory care, among others.
This is Beacon Hill at Eastgate’s second national award in recent months. In September, Beacon Hill earned a spot on FORTUNE’s 2024 Best Small and Medium Workplaces in Aging Services for Senior Housing and Care list, ranking third overall.

The number of continuing care retirement communities has doubled in the past decade to well over 2,000, and Beacon Hill was ranked in the top 100. Beacon Hill is one of eight Michigan communities to earn a spot on the list, which was curated from quality dimension scores, accreditations, visitor satisfaction scores and nationwide feedback from medical professionals, staff and residents and their acquaintances.
A continuing care retirement community, also known as a life plan community, offers a continuum of care within one location, allowing residents to transition between independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care as their needs change over time. Newsweek created its 2025 list to provide seniors and their loved ones looking for guidance on continuing care retirement communities with a comprehensive resource for informed decision-making.
Beacon Hill at Eastgate is a distinctive, nonprofit, life plan community nestled in the established and vibrant Eastgate neighborhood. The life plan community offers residents a host of tasteful living and care options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. The nonprofit also provides rehabilitation services.
Beacon Hill at Eastgate helps residents feel at home by giving them access to a variety of on-site amenities that include four restaurants with weekly rotating menus, an indoor pool and state-of-the-art fitness center, art and exercise classes, community gardens and walking paths.
Beacon Hill at Eastgate is currently designing its West End expansion, which will add a host of new residences and amenities, including a coffee shop, an art gallery and wellness facilities.
