Tranquil Outdoor Spaces at Beacon Hill

Stunning Open Air Environments

In addition to beautiful interior spaces at Beacon Hill, residents also have access to an abundance of outdoor spaces on our nearly 14-acre Independent Living Campus. From the bustling Community Garden to quiet benches, there is plenty of space to take in the fresh air.

Formal Gardens Gazebo

Nestled in the formal gardens, the gazebo provides respite from the hot sun for our gardeners. But it’s not only for gardeners! Grab some lunch from the Bistro and head outside to immerse yourself in the gardens while you dine.

Outdoor Fireplace

Located right off the Garden Café, there is a large outdoor fireplace with soft seating. Enjoy the warmth of the fire and listen to the quiet hum of the bubbler fountains. A perfect place to gather with friends and family, or for quiet reading.

The Courtyard

Take a stroll along gently winding paths leading you past beautiful landscaping and tranquil water features. Stop and admire the scenery from one of the many outdoor seating areas accessible from the courtyard paths.

The Vistas Patio

Located directly off the Garden Lounge of the Vistas, the Vistas Patio has a retractable sun shade, plentiful soft seating and tables, an outdoor fireplace, television, and commercial kitchen for outdoor events.

The Community Garden

Bring your love of gardening with you to Beacon Hill

Our half-acre Community Garden is a place for residents to continue their love of gardening. A place where we welcome our Eastgate neighbors to take a stroll with their families, and where our talented culinary team grows dozens of varieties of fresh produce that they later harvest and use in our on-site restaurants.

Interested in having your own garden plot? Contact Garden Café Manager Maggie Thiel at 616-608-8288 to discuss available options. Depending on the level of interest and number of active gardeners, there may be a short wait for an opening.
