Black Friday Shopping Tips: Smart, Safe & Stress-Free Holiday Guide
Can you believe it’s Black Friday already? Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone (and your Thanksgiving feast has become leftovers), it’s time to focus on the next few holidays, including Hannukah and Christmas.
As you prepare for The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, here are some shopping tips for you today. Happy shopping and happy holidays!
Create a List, Check it Twice. Before you shop in a store or online today, make sure you determine exactly what you need and create a list featuring every item. You’ll be much more organized as a result.
Decide Exactly How Much You’d like to Spend. As you create your list, you should also figure out how much you’d like to spend. Your budget will help you decide what you’ll buy—and what you won’t. Perhaps some Black Friday sales will allow you to buy more than you originally thought?
Don’t Forget Your Coupons. Look through your residence and see which coupons you’ve received in the mail recently. As you shop, keep your coupons in mind, especially as you decide which stores to visit (and which websites to purchase items from).
Focus on Quality, Rather than Just Price. In the long run, you’re better off buying an item from a trusted brand that’s known for offering longstanding products. Even if you have to pay more for them, always focus on products’ quality, first and foremost. You’ll be glad you did in the long run.
Keep Your Receipts. Unfortunately, your loved ones may have to return some of the gifts you buy for them. Maybe some clothes don’t fit properly? Or perhaps they’ve changed their minds and decided they’d like a completely different item? Whatever the case, keep all of your receipts until you absolutely don’t need them anymore.
Know Your Surroundings as Much as Possible. If you’re going out shopping today (even with a group of people), know your surroundings fully. Remember exactly where you parked and look out for suspicious people. If you notice anything unusual, reach out to law enforcement quickly.
Look for Items that are Very Popular First. More often than not, electronics are the first items to be “sold out” on Black Friday, both in stores and online. Toys are also big-time sellers. Buy these first—and you’ll have very happy grandkids soon!
Monday, Monday. Most likely, you won’t find everything you need on Black Friday. Don’t worry though! Cyber Monday is coming up very soon (in a couple days, actually). Many more great deals—and products—await you!
Online Shopping May be Worth Considering. Perhaps you’re “old fashioned” and prefer to shop at stores. That’s completely understandable! But think about trying online shopping this year, too. You just might find some great items for fantastic prices, all from the comfort of your residence. And you’ll completely avoid the crazy traffic!
Remember that Some Deals Aren’t Always Great. Sometimes a deal will seem to be too good. If your instinct notices something unusual, trust it. From time to time, there’s a reason why an item is priced so affordably—its quality isn’t very high. Again, be willing to pay more to receive higher quality items this season.
Research, Research, Research. Yes, to shop successfully on Black Friday, you’ll need to do your “homework.” Research for users’ reviews of products. Find out which products have the highest-rated reviews. And then, from there, determine which stores offer those exact products for the lowest prices. Your research will pay off!
Talk to Your Friends. You may want to stop by some residences and talk to your friends at Beacon Hill before you leave to shop today. Perhaps they’ll have some ideas that you didn’t? Or maybe they’ll want to join you? The more company you have today, the better! Be safe, be smart, and, above all else, have fun!
Good luck with your shopping today! Remember to enjoy the experience, and don’t stress out. If you don’t find everything you need today, you will soon enough.
As you participate in yet another Black Friday, don’t forget the reason for the season either: time spent with your friends and loved ones. Embrace that time fully today!
