This summer, Beacon Hill at Eastgate is delighted to once again invite the Eastgate neighborhood to join us as we showcase exceptional musical performances with our Concerts on the Green series. We welcome four unique acts to our lawn, all made possible by the generous support of the Beacon Hill Foundation. The Foundation’s mission to Cultivate Care and Community allows us to bring home world-renowned talent for all to enjoy together. And we’re also delighted to bring back our food truck, the Traveling Plate, with its delicious menu items available for purchase. Mark your calendar for these upcoming shows, which all begin at 7pm on the dates listed below. We look forward to seeing you and all of our neighbor friends out front at 1919 Boston Street!

June 14 – River Rogues Jazz Band
The River Rogues Jazz Band will kick off the Concert on the Green series with the sound and soul of traditional jazz. A local band established 20 years ago, the River Rogues know how to entertain a crowd. They’re sure to get feet tapping along to the synergistic sounds of musicians collaborating on the piano, banjo, guitar, trombone, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, tuba and drums. Get ready for a musical journey, from the energy of New Orleans, to melodies from around the world.
July 12 – Judy Harrison and the ReBooted band
We welcome back Judy Harrison and her high-energy band ReBooted for what’s sure to be another remarkable show. Judy’s mother, Joyce Lynas, is a former resident of Beacon Hill and introduced Judy and ReBooted several years ago. A fan-favorite, we are delighted to honor Joyce’s dancing spirit as we enjoy the pulsing sounds of original music, classic rock and country favorites. ReBooted celebrates 25 years of togetherness and is billed as one of Northern Michigan’s favorite bands since 1997.
August 9 – Edye Evans Hyde
Talented Edye Evans Hyde returns to BHE with her signature style that melds pop, jazz and blues into a truly one-of-a-kind sound, which some describe as an instrument all its own. An experienced performer and teacher here in Grand Rapids, Edye has deep connections to West Michigan and also has spent time in Los Angeles and Asia. She was previously named jazz musician of the year by the West Michigan Jazz Society. During her remarkable career, Edye has opened for many notable performers, including twice for legend Ray Charles. We are thrilled to welcome her back.
Sept 13 – Eli Roe
Eli Roe features a trio of talented musicians who bring together their love for simple instruments with a spirit of creative interpretation. The band says its mission is to “craft acoustic music in a way that just feels right, like an old pair of blue jeans.” Comfortable with each other, the trio experiments with arrangements and introduces folk-inspired renditions of all-time favorites. And as spinoff members of the celtic band Paddy’s Cure, Eli Roe also performs familiar celtic classics.
We look forward to joining together and making memories at the Concerts on the Green series this summer. Thanks again to the Beacon Hill Foundation’s Celebrating the Arts for establishing and continuing this much-loved series of musical performances.
