Arts and Crafts to Create this Fall

Do you consider yourself to be a crafty person? Maybe you’ve simply thought about creating a craft of some sort down the road, but you still haven’t done so?

Regardless of your past experiences in art and crafting, there is no better time than now to pursue this great hobby.

After all, it will allow you to let your creative “juices flow”. You’ll also increase your focus, while using your time to create something from scratch—something you’ll be truly proud of. And you just might meet some new friends at Beacon Hill in the process!

If you’re interested in pursuing a new hobby (or spending even more time on a hobby you’ve enjoyed for years), consider creating the following arts and crafts this fall.

Acorn Balls. At first glance, this might seem to be a weird concept. How can you create acorn balls? Well, it’s actually a rather easy craft to create, one that you could produce dozens upon dozens of if you’d like. Simply buy some wool balls at an arts and crafts store. From there, glue the tops of real acorns to the wool balls and—voilà—you’ll have fun decorations for years to come!

Clay Leaves. Have you ever been interested in pottery, but haven’t pursued your interest since you don’t have a kiln? This fall you have a chance to create pottery—without ever requiring a kiln. How so? Create leaves with either air-dry or oven-bake clay. Once you’ve formed your leaves and the clay has been hardened, you can paint them any color you’d like. If the paint wears off eventually, simply repaint them and enjoy them well into the future!

Clay Leaf Dishes. If you enjoyed creating clay leaves, take your passion to an entirely different level. Create dishes in the form of autumn leaves, too! Again, use air-dry or oven-bake clay, paint them with orange, red, and yellow hues, and then use them for fall candies, little decorations, jewelry, and so forth. The sky is the limit!

Fall Towel Hanger. Don’t forget to look for a hanger for your fall towels as well. Consider buying a wall-mounted towel hanger that’s comprised of wood, allowing you to decorate it with a fall theme. Maybe you’ll like to paint leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, and straw on it? Regardless of your preference, your bathroom will be full of fall spirit!

Leaf Candle Holder. Are you looking for a simple, affordable way to add a bit more charm to your fall-scented candles? You won’t need much…just some leaves, Mason jars, glue, and any decorations you’d like to add to the jars. The leaves don’t have to be real either, although you may prefer to include the “real deal.”

Paper Bag Leaves. Sometimes you may prefer the challenge of decorating your Beacon Hill residence with fake leaves, rather than real ones—all while striving to ensure they look real. The best way to do so? Take some paper grocery bags, cut leaf shapes out of them, paint them, and then glue them to real branches. You’ll be very proud of your creations!

Pumpkin Mason Jars. Aside from using your Mason jars to create leaf candle holders, you can also use them to create pumpkins. Simply paint them orange, glue ivy leaves on their tops, and then add anything else you’d like to them (whatever makes them look as much like pumpkins as possible). If you’d like to have jack-o-lanterns, you can paint faces on them, too.

Scarecrow Mason Jars. Don’t forget to create some other autumn-associated decorations: scarecrows. Once again, buy some Mason jars, along with a more unusual purchase—burlap. The burlap will not only be used to cover the jars, but you can also create hats with it. Feel free to use markers and paint to design clothes and faces for your scarecrows as well.
