In this “Lost Arts” presentation, we will explore ways to date a vintage photograph by using clues embedded in the photo itself. This program studies Victorian fashion styles, hairstyles, jewelry, hats, studio props and more to date a photograph as close as possible to the year it was taken. Finally… discover who those people might be in your faded family album… or the people that gaze from the box of photos you inherited. Become a photo detective by using helpful tips that are covered in this fascinating program. We will reveal a little-known side of Victorian photography and customs. Customs that one might consider very bizarre! Guests are encouraged to bring vintage family photos or collections of photographs for examination and discussion at the end of the program.
Wednesday February 19, 3:00 p.m. in the Community House Auditorium.
This event is free and open to the public.
