Plante Moran and Retirement Dynamics recently conducted a COVID-19 Sentiment Survey among three distinct groups connected with communities for older adults: residents, prospective residents and staff. This national survey asked residents and staff to share their experience living and working through the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 40% of surveyed residents responded with resoundingly positive sentiments regarding safety as well as providing ideas provided for improving senior living communities during these challenging times. The survey revealed, among other things, that:
- 92% of staff felt the community where they worked responded well to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- 93% of residents felt their community took all precautions to keep them safe.
- 85% of staff agreed residents “are safer in their community than in their previous homes.”
- 77% of residents said they were “glad to be living in a community during the pandemic,” with 86% affirming they were glad they made the decision to move.
Beacon Hill agreed to join the nearly 100 organizations that participated in the survey. Beacon Hill residents, staff and potential residents, or prospects, all submitted responses to the survey.
