Reflections from the Chaplain

Peace comes to those who share their worries with others. We share with friends. We share with God. We share with the assurance that we are not alone. Like a fine bottle of wine, we must pop the cork and let our worries breathe. Keeping them bottled up will only keep our worries full and the peace out.

I regret that during this season of social distancing, we cannot gather with our faith communities or for our chapel services. In the meantime, I’d encourage you to lean into your personal spiritual practices like prayer, meditation, and Scripture reading. If you’d like some recommended resources, please send me an email or give me a call. If you’d like a visit or call, please do not hesitate to reach out. I’m here to journey with you through this COVID-19 pandemic.

Matthew 6

Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
